Dear BCT Customers,
we would like to inform you that, due to the continued volatility in energy commodity markets resulting in a sustained increase in fuel costs, and in accordance with the provisions of the BCT Standard Tariff, the terminal will introduce an Energy Emergency Surcharge (EES) effective 31 August 2026.
The purpose of the EES is to mitigate the adverse impact of rising operating costs directly linked to extraordinary increases in fuel market prices. We would like to emphasize that the decision to implement this surcharge has been made following a thorough and rational assessment of the current commercial conditions affecting terminal operations, as well as the need to maintain economic balance and competitiveness while ensuring the highest possible standard of terminal services.
The current EES rate is USD 1.67.
The surcharge has been calculated based on a comparison between the average wholesale fuel price supplied by ORLEN in 2024 and the current wholesale fuel price.

The EES will apply to shipping lines throughout September 2026 and will be charged on each container loaded onto or discharged from a vessel, including full, empty, and transshipment containers.
At the same time, BCT reserves the right to amend the surcharge should circumstances so require. Any adjustment to the rate and/or extension of the surcharge beyond September 2026 will depend on developments in the energy markets, which BCT will continue to monitor closely.
Thank you for your understanding.
