Dear BCT Customers,

We kindly inform you that BCT has started work related to the implementation of the new NAVIS N4 terminal operating system. It will replace the existing TOS Tideworks in both container and general cargo handling areas.

The decision to change the TOS system was made due to the continuous development of the BCT terminal and the necessity to use a more standard and modern operating solution, which is also a standard solution in the ICTSI group.

The most important and fundamental change you can expect is a change in the pre-lodging (notification) logic.

With the implementation of NAVIS N4, there will be a transition from the currently functioning pre-lodging of delivering and pick-ups of containers created directly by freight forwarders to logic based on export bookings lists and the assignment of PINs to import containers. This type of solution successfully operates in a number of container terminals around the world and, as we understand, most of you deal with it on an ongoing basis.

Another change will be the implementation of notifications for container car visits for specific time windows. Shipping lines, forwarders and transport companies registered in the BCT system will have such rights. The change is intended to enable smooth operation of route vehicles and prevent congestion at the terminal gates.

With the next stages of implementation, we also planned to automate the processes of handling general cargo and warehouse cargo to minimize the waiting time for handling general cargo on BCT.

Due to the scope and complexity of this project and the number of changes in the current logic of cooperation with the terminal, we are also counting on your involvement in the process of creating a community centered around the new system. The next stages of implementation will require a series of consultations, tests and training for future users of the new terminal operating system on BCT, therefore your market experience will be invaluable in the possible adaptation of standard solutions offered by NAVIS to local conditions. This will enable us to make a joint, smooth transition from the currently used TOS solution and minimize potential difficulties.

On this page, we will inform about further assumptions regarding the change of the TOS system at the BCT terminal and update information regarding the next stages of implementation of the NAVIS N4 system.
